Corrosion inhibitors in cooling systems: Glysacorr® types
Glysacorr is an inhibitor concentrate which is added to the cooling water of internal combustion engines in cases in which the coolant does not need to be protected from freezing. Its offers excellent protection against cavitation and corrosion to all metals and alloys that are used in cooling systems. It is especially appropriate for the use in heavy-duty engines such as those used in trucks, on ships and locomotives.

Glysantin types are engine coolant concentrates based on ethylene glycol for watercooled engines. Available are products of all inhibitor technologies. The Glysantin® engine coolant was developed in the 1920's by chemist Dr. Jordan and registered for patent in 1929. The Glysantin® brand is now one of the world's most frequently-used products for initial filling. Of course, it is continuously adapted to the latest requirements in collaboration with leading car manufacturers. Transfer fluids and coolants: Glythermin® types
The Glythermin types are used in high technical equipments, e.g. solar heating equipments. They perform very well as heat-transfer-fluids and coolants, and they protect the equipment from frost and corrosion. They have excellent compatibility with the materials used in air conditioning and solar heating equipment, and they remain mobile at very low temperatures. They prevent scale from forming in heating and cooling circuits.

Colour markers for petroleum: Sudan® M types
Sudan® M types are solvent soluble dyes for colouring and identifying petroleum derivatives.
Modern quality fuels allow low consumption, low emissions and high engine performance. However, mineral oil fraud causes enormous economic losses worldwide and endangers human health and the environment. Our markers are invisible to fraudsters, but our high-performance detectors can identify them at trace levels in the mineral oil product. In this way we put a stop to fraudsters – and help customers be more successful.

Hydraulic fluids: Hydraulan® types 
Brake fluids are used for hydraulic power transmission from brake pedal to wheel brake and are a vitally important component of brake systems. Brake fluids are formulated from glycol ethers, polyalkylene glycols and a corrosion inhibitor package. They also have to be capable of performing perfectly in modern ABS braking systems. Because they are so important to safety, brake fluids have to fulfil the highest standards of quality and reliability. The BASF Hydraulan types conform to the SAE J 1703, SAE J 1704 and FMVSS 116 - DOT 4 specifications. They are miscible with other brake fluids formulated to the same specifications. Many automobile manufacturers have approved BASF as an OEM supplier of brake fluid.

Fuel additives: Kerobit® types and Kerocom® PIBSI
Our chemical additives improve fuel quality and increase fuel economy for the car driver. Throughout its life, the engine runs faultlessly, economically and with lower emissions. Our additized fuels meet the automotive industry’s specifications throughout the world and conform to international legal requirements.
Kerobit® types are antioxidants for gasoline and aviation fuels. These additives prevent hydrocarbons from being oxidized and forming a high molecular weight sediment which is deposited as gum. They improve the stability of the fuel.
Kerocom® PIBSI is a dispersant/detergent additive for the use in multifunctional diesel performance packages as well as stabilizer packages for middle distillates.
