Sustainable Development
In 1992, at the United Nations Environmental Conference in Rio de Janeiro, the international community agreed on the principle of Sustainable Development. The aim is to meet today’s economic, ecological and social needs without compromising the development prospects of future generations. As a 100% subsidiary of BASF group, BTC is also committed to the principle of Sustainable Development.
With our products and services, we contribute to solving problems related to an increasing world population, rarefaction of natural resources, the degradation of ecosystems and growing differences in living standards. BASF has thus centered its long-term aim and action on this idea of sustainable development and environmental protection.
- By resolving problems and being innovative, BASF takes into account the interests of future generations whilst answering to the needs of the current generation.
- Ongoing profitable performance based on Sustainable Development is the basic requirement for all of our activities. BASF is committed to the interests of its customers, shareholders and employees and assumes a responsibility towards society.
- The manufacturing, use and disposal of BASF’s products are safe and the impact on mankind and the environment is kept to a minimum during production, storage, transportation, sale, use and disposal.
- Economic considerations do not take priority over safety and health issues as well as environmental protection.
- We support and advise our customers to use our products safely and in an environmentally sound manner (recycling, waste disposal).
- BASF controls the impact of production processes and systematically tests the effects of its products.
- During its research projects, BASF takes into account natural resources conservation and develops a policy of environmental protection and innovation.
- With its knowledge in life sciences and in technical, economic and social fields, BASF tries to contribute to the evolution of sciences and, as a result, to a positive development of society.
- As a subsidiary of BASF group, BTC compensates its employees according to their individual performance as well as company performance and provides benefits based on local market conditions. As a part of BASF group, BTC also proposes borderless career opportunities as executive positions are filled preferably from within by promoting employees with intercultural experiences.
